January

Radford recaps how over the last three years New York has expereinced the lowest job growth in the US, and how this has been even worse in Buffalo.

February

Radford provides updates on the auto industry in regards to what type of vehciles, specifically luxury vehicles, are being produced. He relates this to the economy and what it means for auto industry workers.

March

Analyzing aviation safety, Radford relects on the United Airline Flight 232 where the tail engine failed on July 19, 1989 in Iowa. This resulted in the plane flying out of control and the critical injured plane crashed right before landing when it's right wing dipped causing it hit the ground tumbling and it burst into flames. 111 people were killed and 185 survived. Nearly 10 years later experts are coming out saying the crash could have been prevented had the aircraft beenbetter inspected and inspected more frequently.

April

Radford analyzes the Apollo-13 movie over multiple airings and also discusses the United States Space program (NASA) and its connection to Buffalo.

May

Radford and Buffalo celebrate 75 years of Buffalo Broadcasting.

July

15th Annual Summer Festival occurs and Radford reports on what will be occuring. New this year, Radford infroms viewers, is a cookbook.

  • Segmemt: Survivor of the Love Canal enviornmental disaster Lois Gribbs speaks out about what she expierenced living there. Love Canal was a neighborhood in Niagara Falls that was also a landfill site. It was contaminated and the toxins wreaked havic on the enviornment and those who lived there. Health concerns were launched and local Love Canal homeowners picketed the worksite, multiple, inclduing Gibbs, were arrested.

August

Ribbon cutting ceremony at the new satellite police station in Buffalo. This satellite station is the third of its kind in the city Radford states.

September

As the 1998 mitderm elections are nearing Radford relays to the people what seats are up for election, including US senators, NYS govenor, and Lt. Govenor, as well a what canidates are running.

October

Radford hosts multiple segments on a new Space Mission and broadly relates it to how Western New York has always been involved with these types of missions. Radford then specifcally discusses how buisnessman and politician John Glenn will become the oldest person to go into space. Radford states many locals are invested in his mission, but also hope for a safe return.
