Dance Team

The dance team, chartered and funded by the student government, was started in the 1998-1999 season. One of the first leaders of the Bonaventure dance team was Jamie Tankewitz, a sophomore at the time.

Dance Team to the Rescue

The cheerleaders quit for the 02-03 season because, as stated in the Bona Venture "In a written statement from the majority of the 15-member squad, the cheerleaders complained of 'poor, inattentive coaching, disorganization, lack of support by athletics, and extreme unprofessionalism by the University's training coach.'"  As a result, the dance team fulfilled some of the cheerleaders duties such as extra dancing at games to fill up the cheerleaders time slot, and sitting on the sidelines supporting the team.
