1916 Elections

After winning the 1912 election, Woodrow Wilson (D) once again ran for president with Thomas R. Marshall. He ran against Charles E. Hughes (R) and his running mate, Charles W. Fairbanks. Wilson won his second term.

1924 Election

The election of 1924 saw more than two candidates run for office. Republicans led by Calvin Coolidge and Charles G. Dawes, Democrats led by John W. Davis and Charles W. Bryan, and Progressives led by Robert La Follette and Burton K. Wheeler all ran for presidency. Calvin Coolidge and running mate, Charles G. Dawes won.

1928 Election

In the 1928 election Herbert Hoover (R) and his running mate, Charles Curtis ran against Al Smith (D) and his running mate, Joseph Taylor Robinson. Hoover carried 40 states compared to Smith, who only carried eight. Hoover won the election without much competition.
