Lenna Tree

The Lenna Tree is located at the rear Doyle Hall behind the bell tower. The tree was donated in memory of Reginald A. Lenna by his wife, daughter, and son-in-law, and dedicated on November 2, 2000. The tree is an oak tree, which has the ability to grow very large in size if it is given the appropriate amount of space.

Reginald A. Lenna and his wife, Elizabeth, contributed funds to create the Lenna Endowed Visiting Professorship in 1990. It brings scholars of stature to St. Bonaventure each year for public lectures. In 1996, he and his wife were the recipients of the first Gaudete Medal, an honor bestowed on business and community leaders who exemplify the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, and have inspired, encouraged, and enlightened others. Reginald A. Lenna was a University trustee member from 1974 to 1987, and was given the honor of trustee emeritus from 1988 until his death in 2000.
