William C. Foster Memorial Courtyard

The William C. Foster Memorial Courtyard is located in Doyle Hall. The courtyard was repaired in in the winter of 2012 and spring of 2013 to restore the space for events, faculty, and students. The renovation concluded in the summer of 2013. The space is wheelchair accessible, and has benches and plantings around the area. Prior to the renovation, lilac bushes donated by Sister Margaret Carney's family for her inauguration, were located in the courtyard. They have since been taken out of the courtyard and placed in two different locations.

William C. Foster was a member of the Class of 1962. He practiced law for thirty five years before retiring in 2000. Foster also served on the University Board of Trustees from 2008 until his passing in 2010. A scholarship was endowed by William and his wife, Daria Foster in honor of their mothers in 2009. The courtyard was named in Foster's honor for his service and extraordinary philanthropy.
