The lilacs for the Doyle Hall courtyard were donated by Sister Margaret Carney's family when she was inaugurated as University President. In 2013, the courtyard was renovated and renamed the William C. Foster Memorial Courtyard. The lilacs were moved to two areas near Doyle. Some of the lilacs are along the south patio perimeter of Health Services, while the remaining lilacs are along the south base of the bell tower at the Doyle Chapel.
