Marguerite Garrison

Marguerite Garrison, graduated from
St. Bonaventure in 1981.
Garrison majored in Psychology and minored in Biology while at the
university. Garrison was the
only female in her ROTC Commissioning Class.
Garrison explains that, “Being the late 70s, there was still
some stigma associated with what girls should do versus what boys
should do. We have made much progress in recognizing women’s
strengths since then.” She went on to say, “Although this is a time
of war, service to our
nation is a worthwhile experience. Also, being in the military
affords one many opportunities to travel, meet people of other
cultures, and learn about yourself”
