Tullah didn't just shock her neighbors.  In a letter to Fr. Damian McElrath, OFM, President of Saint Bonaventure at the time, which was attached to a manuscript of the book, she tells him to "Treat it with asbestos gloves, and don't be shocked--in parts it even shocks me."

From the back cover:

Tullah's Quips:

"If you have nothing to hide, show it; if you have nothing to show, hide it."

"People gossip that Tullah makes love to perfect strangers.  Malicious lies; I object.  Nobody is perfect."

"When you are penniless, when your toes show in your shoes, your ass shows in your clothes, that's poverty; but when you're rich and your toes and ass show, that's high fashion, Baby."
