Front of University Chapel entrance

    Above the front doors, on the facade of the Chapel, is the Franciscan Coat-of-Arms.  Here are symbolized the sacred ideals and holy ambitions of Saint Francis and his followers.  The Franciscan desire to live and to work with Christ, in Christ and through Christ is expressed in the crossed arms of Christ and Saint Francis on the background of the Cross of our Salvation.  For a more complete description of the main elements in the coat of arms, go to the University Seal page.
