JERRY E. POURNELLE

Jerry E. Pournelle

Jerry E. Pournelle is the bestselling co-author of The Mote in God’s Eye, Lucifer’s Hammer, Footfall, Oath of Fealty and many more novels. Along with John Carr, Jerry is the co-creator of the War World series. Many of his stories and novels take place in the CoDominium and Empire of Man future history, which is considered by many to be the best developed and most realistic of all science fiction future histories, although recent events have turned it into an alternate future history.

JOHN F. CARR

John F. Carr

John F. Carr was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but raised in San Diego, California. He now resides with his wife, Tori, and two cats, Holstein and Pork Chop, in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania.

He is the author of eight novels and twenty-seven theme anthologies and short story collections.



These include the 2001 Prometheus Hall of Fame Award Winner, The Survival of Freedom. His other anthologies include, Nebula Award Stories Sixteen, The Science Fiction Yearbook, nine volumes of There Will Be War, four volumes of The Endless Frontier, three volumes of Imperial Stars and seven volumes of the shared-world anthology series, War World. John was also the Editor of The Bulletin of the Science Fiction Writers of America, the Publisher of Sticky Fingers Magazine, the Managing Editor of the Far Frontiers paperback magazine and SF editor of Popular Computing.

He has published a number of short stories, including two stories with Roland Green for Robert Adam's Friends of the Horseclans series. The latest volume in the War World series, "War World: The Battle for Sauron" by John F. Carr and Don Hawthorne was published in 2007 by Pequod Press.

He also edited and wrote the introductions to all five Ace Books H. Beam Piper short story collections, "Federation," "Empire," "Paratime," "The Worlds of H. Beam Piper" and "The Complete Paratime."

John is the recognized authority on the life and works of H. Beam Piper and his Piper biography, "H. Beam Piper: A Biography" will be published by McFarland & Company on March 30, 2008. An excerpt from this work-in-progress appeared in the January 1988 issue of Analog Science Fiction/Science Fact Magazine.

He just completed "The Fireseed Wars," the next installment of the Kalvan Saga. He is also working on a new collection of Paratime stories to be called "The Paratime Police Chronicles," which will contain all of Piper's Paratime Police stories, as well as several new Paratime stories he has recently written.

St. Bonaventure University has become the home of the John F. Carr Collection at the Friedsam Memorial Library Archives. This Archive contains published and well as unpublished works and materials relating to his career.

Mark Richardson

Mark Richardson is a software designer living in the UK. In his spare time he designs and develops web sites for both individuals and groups who want a professionally designed web site at a price they can afford.

Mark spent many years at one of the companies he worked for designing a wide variety of business web sites for the company's clients.


Among Mark's many interests is Medieval History, he runs the web site of the Lance and Longbow Society - Britain's premier medieval interests society. He is also researching his family tree and trying to find out the stories behind his own family history.

Alan Gutierrez

Alan Gutierrez, is a well-known cover artist who has done countless book and game covers. He has illustrated books for Isaac Asimov, Robert Silverberg, Gordon Dickson, and Greg Bear to name a few.

He has also done toy packaging (for Tonka Toys) and has been seen on the covers of many magazines, such as Final Frontier, Analog, and Astronomy. He has also illustrated spacecraft concepts for NASA.


Art directors and publishers seek out Alan's work for its eye-popping color and drama.

Victoria Alexander is the Editor In Chief of Pequod Press and a former columnist for the Centre Daily Times. She is an Associate Editor for the Centre County Gazette.

DON HAWTHORNE

Don Hawthorne is a noted wargamer and free lance author who has written many fine stories, including the Iron Angel series which appeared in There Will Be War. In the 1980s he was an Associate Editor at J.E. Pournelle and Associates before leaving to become Editor of the Avon Hill General. His story, Coming of the Eye, defined the Saurons and brought them to life. Don is the co-author, along with John F. Carr, of the recent War World novel, War World: Battle of Sauron.
