Tree of Life

The Tree of Life is located by the wall of the Quick Arts Center that is facing the Reilly Center. The tree was planted on Arbor Day in 1999 in a ceremony organized by Alpha Phi Omega, International Student Association, University Ministries, and SBU for Life to promote the school's stand on the environment. The Tree of Life, which is a Snowdrift Malus was donated by Alpha Phi Omega. A snowdrift malus can grow to be fifteen to twenty feet high, and has the ability to attract birds with its fruits. The tree normally blooms in April and May. The plaque associated with this memorial is located along the wall inside the Quick Center by the emergency exit that the tree is near.
