Former Player:  Andy Swanger

1.     When did you play at SBU, and what was your position?
 A:
2004-2009, 2nd base
2. What was successful about your time on the team as a team and as an individual?
A:  W
e made A10s every year I played and we beat UMass for the only time in school history
3. What was your opinion of the coaching staff at the time…what made them good or bad?
A:
Coach was the best, he was like a dad to us, even if people didn’t always agree with his decisions on the field
they
knew they could always go to him.

4. Why did you choose St. Bonaventure over other schools that recruited you?
A:  The
Physical education program and the team (including coach).
5. What are some of the best memories that you have with the SBU team?

A:  The time with teammates, road trips, big games, and everything about the team and how close we were

Current Player: Brittany Storch

Junior, 2nd Base

Britt says:

I picked St. Bonaventure over other schools because when I visited I fell in love with the campus. I love the small school setting and the ability to walk anywhere necessary on campus. I also fit very well into the education department's criteria for my major.“

Current Player:  Kara Morenous

1.      What position do you play

a.    Senior 3rd baseman

2.    Why Bonaventure?

a.    I picked St. Bonaventure over other schools because of the close-knit, aka Bona Bubble, environment that it had. I was contemplating going to a
huge public school but felt so much more at home at Bonas. The people were nice and the softball program led me in the right direction.  I think the SBU team is a very competitive Division-1 team because it is in the A10 conference. Other schools were not in the A10 and I liked that the A10 conference was known and competitive.

3.    What makes the coaching staff so great?

a.     I think the SBU team has a lot more history with one coach coaching than the other teams I looked at. At the other schools, there were a lot of new coaches that had not accomplished much yet, so although it brought new and fresh perspectives to the game, at St. Bonaventure, Coach Threehouse has a successful history at both coaching and playing at St. Bonaventure.

4.    How does SBU compare with other teams in the A-10?

a.    I think the SBU team is beginning to be more of a threat in the A10 conference, as it once was. Through better recruiting and players coming in with a better skill set, it makes it easier for coaches to refine skills rather than rebuild them. As long as the talent continues to grow and there is a committed interest to the program, I think we will continue to compete in the A10 and possibly become an A10 champ in the near future.

Former Player: Ashley Kotz (twin sister of Amanda Kotz)

1. When did you play at SBU, and what was your position?
         a.  2005-2009 1st base, outfield

2. What was successful about your time on the team as a team and as an individual?

a.  making a10s 3 of our 4 years
4. Why did you choose St. Bonaventure over other schools that recruited you?

a.  I visited Bonas my senior year in high school and stayed with some of the girls on the team. I liked the school
and the team and Bonas has a good education   program so I decided to go there. Also, it was only 2 hours from home.

5. What are some of the best memories that you have with the SBU team?
          a.  Making the A10s!
Senior day my senior year- we had to beat Temple to make a10s and we beat them in extra innings!! We had a cookout
              after then celebrated at townhouses.

Alumni games and the cookout at coach's camp afterwards and then hanging with the team and alums afterwards.
Yelling lets go Diiii to Di Phalon!!!
             Spring trips!!!
Hanging out on the covered wagon.  When Jerry, (the bus driver) hit a bridge trying to find a Sheetz. When we
didn't have a/c and it was like 90 degrees on the bus and we had to stop at a rest stop and wait for a new bus.

Hanging out with the team and the million parties :)
             Tarp duty!!!
When we spent hours shoveling snow off the tarp so we could play GW but then it got too warm, and the field turned
to mud and we couldn’t play
.

a.    I felt at home when I walked around campus
