The following are the eight committees that were formed for SAC to keep the organization focused. Their responsibilities are also noted. Publicity Committee: 1. Shall be responsible for publicizing each Council function. 2. Shall prepare and post suitable notices well in advance of each event. 3. Shall establish channels of communication with the campus media. 4. Shall inform the local community, the area colleges in the vicinity of Buffalo, Erie, and Rochester; whenever events are open to the public. 5. Shall maintain and utilize the poster machine. 6. Publicity shall be in good taste, express imagination and stimulating whenever possible. Cultural Committee: 1. Shall be responsible for the following programs: lectures, special movies, professional theatrical productions, art exhibits and contests, other suitable events of a cultural nature. 2. Shall establish and maintain a committee of students to handle the following responsibilities: 1) Act as host for our school performers, 2) Set up stage, lights, and sound for performances. Social Entertainment Committee: 1. Shall establish committees to handle the following: major concerts and socials, small or minor attractions and socials and coffee houses performances. 2. Shall be responsible for the proper staging, lighting and sound for each attraction. 3. Shall receive and adequately host guest performers. 4. Shall prepare a schedule of events suitable to the tastes of the campus community. Recreation Committee: 1. Shall supervise and maintain the proper operation of the Recreation room in the University Center. 2. Shall organize and schedule campus tournaments in pool, table tennis, chess and bridge. 3. Shall send qualified students to participate in regional tournaments of the ACU-I. Personnel Committee: 1. Shall solicit and register applicants for the Student Activities Council. A current file shall be kept of those interested in the Council. 2. Shall supervise and be responsible for the work of the bartenders, the attendants, and the clean-up crew and the security personnel. Tour Committee: 1. Shall publicize tours that might be of interest to individual members or groups of the campus community. 2. Shall publicize and arrange tours or trips in the United States or abroad, if there is sufficient student interest. 3. Shall arrange bus trips, whenever possible, to concerts or events in the area. Special Events Committee: 1. Shall be responsible for the following special programs: Parents Weekend, the Christmas party, the Athletic Banquet and the student directory. 2. Shall submit formal and complete reports on each event they sponsor. 3. Shall consider the merit or benefit of new programs. Calendar Committee: 1. Shall be responsible for the Master calendar: recording dates and publishing a monthly calendar. 2. Shall keep on file a copy of the Constitution of each campus club or organization. 3. Shall be responsible for a semester report on each campus club or organization; this report will include an evaluation and a financial statement regarding each club or organization. 4. Shall inspect the financial records of each campus club or organization according to the schedule established by the Office of Student Activities.
