The Domino tree is located in the grassy area behind Friedsam Memorial Library near the Rare Book wing. It is located near the Manning Tree. The Domino tree was originally planted in 1995, but was replanted in 1997 after vandalism occurred. The tree is a Sunburst Locust, which develops into very large shade trees. It was donated by Mary Lou Domino ('85). Her husband, John Domino was a 1984 graduate of St. Bonaventure and worked for ESPN and Empire Sports Network. John Domino passed away in 1994. At the Dick Joyce Sports Symposium, the John Domino Award is handed out to a graduate who has excelled in sports journalism. |
