Szymanski, 49, a Buffalo native, is senior public relations representative for Seminole Electric in Tampa, Fla. He has worked as an editor and reporter for The Detroit News, The Indianapolis Star, and other publications. Szymanski is married, has five children and lives north of Tampa.
