The brain-child of Dr. Jandoli, Press Day brought a lot of national attention to St. Bonaventure. Attracting high school students from all around the region, guests were often pre-eminent names in the field of journalsim and mass communication, including communication advisors to three presidents.
Under the name "Press Conference," St. Bonaventure first held Press Day on May 9, 1936. It was discontinued in 1942 until its rebirth under Jandoli on June 7, 1949.
Like seemingly everything in the Department, Press Day started from humble beginnings and blossomed into a colossal event. Unfortunately, increased financial and logistical difficulties forced the discontinuation of Press Day in 1978.
