Maltz, Albert and Marvin Wald. Naked City: A Screenplay. Carbondale: Southern Illinois UP, 1979. Hellinger was the producer and narrator for this film. The film was directed by Jules Dassin and starred Barry Fitzgerald, Howard Duff, Dorothy Hart, Don Taylor and Ted De Corsia.

Riskin, Robert. Broadway Bill. Akron: Saalfield, 1935. This is an adaptation of the film based on Hellinger's story, "Strictly Confidential." The film was directed by Frank Capra and starred Warner Baxter, Myrna Loy, Helen Vinson and Walter Connolly. Capra remade the film in 1950 as Riding High.
