ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - Dr. Kaplan Harris published two critical essays this summer:

  • "Fashion Auras" in WILD ORCHIDS vol. 2 (2010): pp19-43. This is a collection of writings about the late poet Hannah Weiner. It is published by the Poetics Program at the University at Buffalo.
  • "Gender Performance, Performance Enhancement, and Poetry" in PAIDEUMA: MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY POETRY AND POETICS vol. 36 (2010): pp181-197. This journal is published by the National Poetry Foundation.

Harris is an associate professor of English, director of the graduate program in English, and director of the University Honors Program.


Darwin L. King, professor of accounting, and Edward D. King had an article titled “Timber Update 2010” published in the June 2010 issue of the Oil, Gas & Energy Quarterly. The article discussed recent changes required by the IRS for reporting certain types of timber sales. This is the 25th article Darwin King has published in this journal since 2000.



Dr. Ed. Simone, director of the Theater Program and chair of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, presented at the Association of Theater in Higher Education (ATHE) International Conference in Los Angeles, Aug. 3-6, 2010. Simone’s presentation, “The Role of Chair in a Two-Person Program: Colleague and Visionary,” was part of a panel on strategies for small theater programs and was sponsored by the Theater as a Liberal Art focus group.  Simone is also a member of ATHE’s Acting Program and Directors focus groups. While in L.A., Simone also had script meetings for a performance project now in development.
