      year.<BR><BR>Troy Mulholland, who participated in a physics =
program last=20
      summer at the University of Florida, and Courtney Bosse were =
selected for=20
      the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program in which =

      students conduct research at any of a number of host colleges or=20
      universities across the nation. Both will be seniors in the=20
      fall.<BR><BR>The REU appointments, awarded to students studying =
science,=20
      engineering or mathematics, are among the most prestigious summer=20
      opportunities available to undergraduates.<BR><BR>=93The program =
was started=20
      by the National Science Foundation (NSF) as a way of getting=20
      undergraduates involved in the type of research projects that are =
funded=20
      by the NSF at the large research institutions in the United =
States,=94 said=20
      Dr. John F. Neeson, chair of the Department of Physics at St. =
Bonaventure.=20
      =93It is a realistic recognition by the NSF of the fact that large =
research=20
      institutions benefit from the talent pool of students that is =
developed in=20
      a spectrum of institutions that exist in the =
country.=94<BR><BR>Mulholland=20
      was selected for the University of Rochester=92s REU program in =
physics and=20
      astronomy. He will conduct his research at the Fermi National =
Accelerator=20
      Laboratory in Batavia, Ill.<BR><BR>=93For Troy to get a second REU =

      assignment, and to be asked to do his research at the Fermilab, is =
a truly=20
      a great accomplishment,=94 Neeson said.<BR><BR>Established in =
1967, Fermilab=20
      is a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory specializing in =

      high-energy particle physics and is a joint venture of the =
University of=20
      Chicago and the Universities Research Association (URA). =
Fermilab=92s=20
      Tevatron is a landmark particle accelerator; at 3.9 miles in=20
      circumference, it is the world=92s second largest energy particle=20
      accelerator.<BR><BR>Bosse is one of eight undergraduates from =
across the=20
      country to be selected for the summer REU program in physics at =
Indiana=20
      University and the Indiana University Cyclotron Facility (IUCF).=20
      <BR><BR>Bosse will be working with a faculty member or senior =
scientific=20
      staff member at IUCF on a computational project in condensed =
matter=20
      physics.<BR><BR>A star on the St. Bonaventure playing fields as =
well as in=20
      the classroom, Bosse was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference =
first=20
      team in women=92s soccer. She led the Bonnies, who tied for third =
in the=20
      14-team league, in goals (8) and points (17). Bosse also made the =
ESPN The=20
      Magazine Academic All-District 1 second team.<BR><BR>Both 10-week =
programs=20
      run from early June to early August and include seminars, =
workshops, field=20
      trips and free time for students to explore their locales. Each =

      for enrollment at St. Bonaventure University. In this role, she =

      oversee undergraduate admissions, graduate admissions, and =
financial aid=20
      within the University=92s division of University Relations.</P>
      <P class=3Dstyle2>Since 2007, Dillon Hogan has served as the vice =
president=20
      for state compliance and university registrar at Grand Canyon =
University=20
      in Arizona. She has more than 20 years=92 experience in enrollment =

      management, including as assistant executive director for academic =
and=20
      student affairs for the Arizona Board of Regents.</P>

      <P>Hundreds of alumni will be St. Bonaventure University=92s =
honored guests=20
      during SBU=92s Alumni Reunion Weekend, June 11-13. </P>
      <P>The reunion will salute graduates of the Class of 1950 and =
other=20
      graduating classes in five-year increments through 2005, although =
alums=20
      from all classes are welcome at the annual event. More than 900 =
alumni and=20
      friends are expected to participate in activities on and around =
the St.=20
      Bonaventure campus. </P>
      <P>Alumni will arrive on campus throughout the day on Friday, June =
11,=20
      with golf, campus tours, and presentations by SBU professor Dr. =
Patrick=20
      Dooley and University archivist Dennis Frank scheduled for that =
day. A=20
      Mass for the Class of 1960 and prior graduates will be held at =
4:45 p.m.=20
      in the University Chapel, with class dinners to be held at various =
venues=20
      around town afterwards. The evening will end with an on-campus =
social.=20

      <P>Events on Saturday, June 12, begin with breakfast in the =
Magnano=20
      Centre=92s Hickey Dining Hall, followed by golf, a 4.4K Fun Run, =

      tours of the campus, exhibitions at the Regina A. Quick Center for =

      Arts, and a number of presentations hosted by University faculty =
and=20
      staff. </P>
      <P>Topics to be presented include the life and teachings of St.=20
      Bonaventure, Thomas Merton and his experiences at SBU, and a =
conversation=20
      with Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., S.T.D., University president. =

      a picnic lunch hosted by the campus Franciscans, there will be =

      presentations on such topics as China and the University=92s Rare =

      Collection as well as open houses hosted by a number of schools =

      <P>Priya Singhal, a senior from Williamsville, has been selected =
for the=20
      Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program in which =
students=20
      conduct research at any of a number of host colleges or =
universities=20
      across the nation. Singhal, a dual-admission student who will =
attend=20
      George Washington University Medical Center at the completion of =
her=20
      Bonaventure studies in May, begins research Monday at Harvard =
University.=20
      The REU appointments, awarded to students studying science, =
engineering or=20
      mathematics, are among the most prestigious summer opportunities =
available=20
      to undergraduates. </P>
      <P>The 10-week program runs until early August and includes =
seminars,=20
      workshops, field trips and free time for students to explore their =

      locales. Singhal will receive a stipend of $3,900 as well as room =

      board. Singhal will be working with Professor Donald Ingber and =
Dr. Silva=20
      Krause on epithelial-mesenchymal control of breast cancer growth. =

      <P>Dr. Krause visited Dr. Julie Hens=92 laboratory at St. =
Bonaventure in=20
      fall 2009 to learn microdissection technique and met Singhal in =
the=20
      lab.</P>
      <P>=93This experience will be truly beneficial to my career goals =
as a=20
      student in the 4+4 dual-admission program with GW,=94 Singhal =
said. =93I hope=20
      to continue to learn new laboratory techniques such as microscopic =

      dissections and further my understanding of the molecular pathways =

      involved in the development of cancer.=94 </P>
      <P>Singhal=92s work in Dr. Hens=92 laboratory at St. Bonaventure =
piqued =93her=20
      interest in breast cancer research,=94 she said. =93I am extremely =

      that I have had the opportunity to work in Dr. Hens=92 lab, and am =

      forward to continuing my research this summer at Harvard.=94 </P>
