the regional presentation.

SIFE is an international =

      donations for community development projects in Bethlehem, Uganda. =
Various=20
      items such as T-shirts and gift cards were sold to help raise =

      the campaign. In addition to helping the village residents with =

      School of Education to help make Bonaventure=92s third year =
hosting the=20

      (N.Y.) Town Beach on Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. until noon. In preparation =
for the=20
      event SIFE and the School of Education not only sold knit gloves =
for $5=20
      but also set up a dunk tank outside the Reilly Center. This year=20
      Bonaventure raised the most money of all Western New York teams =

schools and=20
      taught second-graders how to handle money. The students were =
taught how to=20
      identify coins and how to count money. SIFE members also taught =
students=20
      how to handle money when purchasing items. The main goal was to =
instill=20

      students.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) =96 For =

The Art From The Heart exhibition and auction is =
an=20
      extension of The Quick Center=92s education outreach program with =
area=20
      schools. The idea is to inspire students and draw out their =
artistic=20
      creativity.

=93When the students have a purpose, oftentimes =
they are=20
      better able to express themselves in their artwork,=94 Sabina =
said.

The young artists auctioning off their works are =
from the=20
      classes of fourth-grade teachers Sue Kallenbach and Lauren Stuff, =
and=20
      fifth-grade teachers Randy Samuelson and Amber Benjamin.

=93Art From The Heart 2010 benefits the students =
because it=20
      connects them to the community. This year, it is giving them the=20
      opportunity to help a place that brought many of them into the =
world. The=20
      students will become young philanthropists by donating their =
genuine=20
      artwork to this event,=94 said Kallenbach.

Producing the artwork by the students has been a =
careful=20
      and detailed process.

=93First, the students draw or paint portraits =
of=20
      influential mothers and babies in their lives. They are then cut =
out and=20
      placed on abstract backgrounds,=94 said Courtney Blackmon, an =
education=20
      assistant at The Quick Center. In her outreach role, she regularly =
visits=20
      students in their classroom, offering instruction and advice.

=93This is a wonderful chance for these young =
students at=20
      Ivers J. Norton Elementary School to be recognized for their =
artwork and=20
      help a local institution,=94 noted Kallenbach.

This is the second year for the Art From The =
Heart=20
      program. Last year, Washington West Elementary School=92s students =
auctioned=20
      off original paintings and drawings to raise money for Embrace It =
Africa,=20
      an organization formed by St. Bonaventure=92s Students in Free =
Enterprise to=20
      aid a school and orphanage in Uganda.

=93We=92re very proud of the outreach program =

=93The upcoming student art auction at St. =

      said Olean General Hospital Foundation President Karen Fohl, =

=93Our $750,000 project is for the babies and =
