      Kienzle will be this year=92s guest lecturer. Kienzle is a =
professor at=20
      Harvard Divinity School at Harvard University. She is the John H. =

      Professor of the Practice of Latin and Romance Languages. Her =
research=20
      centers on medieval preaching, saints and a concern about the =
violence=20
      against women during the Middle Ages.</FONT></P>

      great medieval Franciscan writers, including St. Bonaventure. Fr. =

      taught at the Franciscan Institute in the late 1940s and 1950s, =

      for summer sessions in the 1970s. He received an honorary =
doctorate from=20
      St. Bonaventure University in 1974, during the celebration of the =
seventh=20
      centenary of the death of Saint Bonaventure.</FONT></P>

St. John the=20
      Baptist Province, Cincinnati, announced a $1 million gift to the=20
      university to honor the memory of Fr. Ignatius, establishing an =

      to fund research at the Franciscan Institute, provide financial =

      students enrolled at the Institute, and provide funding for an =

      Computer Science is sponsoring the eighth annual Girls Day event =

      at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.</FONT></P>

participants will=20
      be sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade girls from about 30 area =
schools.=20
      Students interested in attending should contact their guidance =
counselors=20
      or technology teachers. The deadline for schools to sign up is =

      workshops will be presented by St. Bonaventure graduates and=20
      undergraduates and professional women in the computer science =

      students will also assist participants during lab sessions and as =

      D., computer science lecturer, started the Girls Day event after =
reading=20
      about the decreased interest in the sciences among middle-school =
aged=20
      girls. An article in the Wall Street Journal reported that the =
number of=20
      incoming freshmen women who declare a computer science major fell =
by 70=20
      percent between 2000 and 2005. Watson made it her mission to =
change those=20
      numbers.</FONT></P>

      <P><FONT face=3D"Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">=93We have =
several=20
      goals for our eighth annual Girls Day,=94 said Watson. =93We want =
them to have=20
      a positive experience with computer applications, and we want them =
