2022 Hellinger Award Winner- Meghan Hall
The 62nd annual Mark Hellinger Award was presented to Meghan Hall.
Hall, a Buffalo, New York, native, graduated from St. Bonaventure in May of 2022 with double majors in journalism and marketing.
At St. Bonaventure, Hall did some of her favorite work for TAPinto Greater Olean, covering elections, city news and the St. Bonaventure community. She also studied abroad at the University of Oxford's Trinity College during the summer of 2019 and spent her senior year as the Student Government Association Executive Board President.
Hall completed the Carnegie-Knight News21 investigative journalism fellowship program, headquartered out of Arizona Sate University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where she reported on the effect of COVID-19 on food insecurity.
She also worked for SiriusXM as a digital content intern, later returing to contract as a digital content producer. She worked with PolitiFact, fact-checking claims made by government officials.
In addition to the Hellinger Award, she earned the 2022 Ideal Bonaventure Student Award, the General Excellence in Mass Communication Award and the Kappa Tau Alpha Senior Scholar Award shortly before her graduation.
