2012 Hellinger Award Winner- Shannon Shepherd

Ashburn, Virginia native Shannon Shepherd won the Hellinger Award in 2012. A passionate sports fan and reporter, she covered St. Bonaventure sports throughout her time as an undergraduate eventually serving as the primary men's basketball sideline reporter and as a color commentator for the women's team. Shepherd also worked with the athletic department to put together highlight packages and video profiles covering other sports and interned with sports departments in Buffalo and Washington, DC. Her devotion and talent was recognized when she received the Bob Koop Award for Broadcasting Excellence upon graduation and the Tim Russert Medal of Merit from the Buffalo Broadcasters Association.

After graduatin, Shepherd went to Wausau, Wisconsin where she covered Wisconsin sports as a reporter and anchor.
