1972 Hellinger Award Winner- Rosemary Kelly Robinson

Rosemary Kelly is congratulated by members of the Hellinger committee at the award dinner.

 

The 1972 Mark Hellinger Award, given to Rosemary Kelly, took place on Spetember 29th at The Plaza in New York City. A winner of a Newspaper Fund Scholarship funded by the Wall Street Journal that allowed her to study at Ohio State University and work as a copyediting intern for the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, Kelly worked over her summers for the Towanda Daily Review in her hometown of Towanda, Pennsylvania. She also was the recipient of a Gannett Newspaper Scholarship.

While a student, Kelly served as the commentary and editorial editor before becoming editor-in-chief of The Bona Venture.

After graduation, she worked as a member of the editorial staff at the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
