Danny's Hide-A-Way was again the scene of the presentation to St. Bonaventure's annual Mark Hellinger Award winner. Rita Fahey was selected by the committee due to her work for The Bona Venture (where she served as photographer, reporter and editor), editorial assistant for the Laurel, publicity director for the Third Order of St. Francis, and as a the program director for Press Day as well as involvement in the Press Club, Women's Association and Garrett Theater. She was also a news writer for the campus radio station, where she became the first woman in school history to serve as a broadcaster.
Hailing from Yonkers, New York, Fahey worked as a reporter for the Herald Statesman in Yonkers and as a publicity researcher and writer for the New York City Department of Highways. She moved on to the New York Law Journal after graduation.
