The game schedules, results and rosters for all seasons are located in the archives department Season Write-ups Season of 2000: Inaugural Season In the Spring of 2000, the women’s lacrosse team began its inaugural season as a Division I team. Head Coach Danielle Caro was chosen to help the team transition from a club team to a team that could complete at the Division I level in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Coach Caro, with the helps of Assistant Coach Nathalie Yuen, coached the team of 16 young women through their first season. Their season ended with a record of 0-12, and in last place in the A-10 Conference at 0-6. 2000 Captains: Catherine Mellon and Melanie Shongo. Season of 2001 Coach Caro and Coach Yuen returned for a second season to coach the Bonnies in the Spring of 2001. The young team improved their record to 6-10 by the end of their season and finished 0-5 in the A-10 Conference. 2001 Captains: Emily Lilyea, Catherine Mellon, and Shannon Moreland. Season of 2002 In the Spring of 2002 the Bonnies welcomed a new Head Coach, Tony Zostant. Coach Zostant along with Assistant Coach Stephen Wagner, led the team to its first A-10 wins and an improved record. Coach Zostant was named the A-10’s Coach of the Year in his first season. The season ended at 7-9 and the team ranked 6th in the A-10 conference with a 2-5 record. The team received high national rankings in two categories; 12th in draw controls, and 15th in ground balls per game. 2002 Captains: Chelsea DiNallo, Emily Lilyea, and Laura Spaulding. Season of 2003 Coach Zostant, who was named the A-10’s Coach of the Year in 2002, was once again given the title in 2003. Along with a new assistant coach, Fran Amasia, Zostant brought the Bonnies to its first winning season. At 12-5 for the season, and 5th in the A-10s with a record of 3-4, the Bonnies made it to their first appearance at the A-10 tournament. The team scored high national rankings in two categories; 4th in nation for draw controls, and 5th in nation for scoring offense. 2003 Captains: Chelsea DiNallo, Emily Lilyea, and Laura Spaulding. Season of 2004 The season of 2004 was another winning season for the Bonnies lead by Coach Zostant and Coach Amasia. It was the first year that the Bonnies had a winning record in A-10 play, 4-3. The Bonnies made it to the A-10 tournament for the second season in a row. The season ended with a record of 10-7. The team ranked 1st nation in draw controls, and 4th in the nation for scoring offense. Season of 2004 Captains: Colleen Crane, Chelsea DiNallo, Laura Spaulding, Sarah Swarthout. Season of 2005 Coach Zostant and Coach Amasia once again coached the Bonnies into a winning season at 10-6. The Bonnies finished 5th in the A-10 Conference at 2-5, but did not make it to the A-10 tournament that year. The team received national rankings; 5th in scoring offense, 8th in draw controls, and 8th in scoring margin. Season of 2005 Captains: Kelly Chevez, Sarah Dressler, and Courtney Gibbons. Season of 2006 In the season of 2006, the Bonnies had a great winning record of 14-3. One of the most memorable moments of the season was when the Bonnies beat a Top 20 team, Richmond, ranked 11th in the nation, on the Bonnies’ home field. The Bonnies made it back to the A-10 Tournament but lost its first game against Temple. The Bonnies finished 2nd in the A-10 Conference. The team received high national rankings in three categories: 3rd in winning percentage, 7th in draw controls, and 8th in scoring offense. Season of 2006 Captains: Sarah Dressler, Mary Kate Farrell, and Courtney Hastrich. Season of 2007 The Bonnies, once again, had a winning season in the spring of 2007. Coach Zostant with Assistant Coach Mat Faas, helped coach the Bonnies to another appearance at the A-10 Tournament. The Bonnies finished their season 8-7, and 3rd in the A-10 conference at 5-2. Season of 2007 Captains: Eileen Gagnon, Kimberly Ross, Brenna Houghton, and Stephanie Jordan. Season of 2008 In the season of 2008 Zostant announced that he would not be returning in late August, leaving for the position of head coach at SUNY Binghamton. The Bonnies then welcomed a new head coach Christy Malone, a former goalie from Cabrini. Former Bonnies lacrosse player Robin Mason joined the coaching staff. The Bonnies finished the season 4-10, and 7th in the A-10 Conference at 2-5. Season of 2008 Captains: Kimberly Ross, Brenna Houghton, and Stephanie Jordan. Season of 2009 In the spring of 2009, Coach Malone returns for a second season and brought in a new assistant coach, Katelyn Penrose, who played attack for Cabrini. The Bonnies improved from the previous season finishing 7-10. The Bonnies did not make the A-10 Tournament and finished 7th in the conference at 1-6. Season of 2009 Captains: Molly Hastrich, Ashley Fischer, and Keri Veto. Season of 2010 The season of 2010 Coach Malone, along with new assistant coach Marcus Nelson coached the Bonnies to a season with a record of 7-9. The Bonnies finished their A-10 Conference play 2-5, finishing 7th. One of the biggest highlights of the season was when the Bonnies traveled to UCONN and beat them on their home turf 8-6. Season of 2010 Captains: Molly Hastrich, Ashley Fischer, and Tori Waheibi. Season of 2011 The season of 2011 Coach Malone led the Bonnies to a record of 6-9. The Bonnies finished their A-10 Conference play 2-5. Season of 2012 The season of 2012 Coach Ryan Lynn led the Bonnies to a record of 3-10. The Bonnies finished their A-10 Conference play 0-7. Season of 2013 The season of 2013 Coach Lynn led the Bonnies to a record of 6-11. The Bonnies finished their A-10 Conference play 0-7. Season of 2014 The season of 2014 Coach Lynn led the Bonnies to a record of 0-14. The Bonnies finished their A-10 Conference play 0-7 |
